Grupo Mariposa is proud to have participated in PepsiCo’s International beverages Pep+ forum where our CEO, Juan Pablo Mata, reinforced our commitment to being part of the solution to both global and local challenges. Since 2013, we have been on a path to align our sustainability management with international initiatives and global standards, driving positive change and measurable impact.
Addressing climate change and contributing to the acceleration of the green transition are key components of our sustainability agenda. As participants in the United Nations Global Compact, we have integrated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our core strategy. In 2018, we adopted the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) from UN Women, deepening our commitment to gender equality. In 2021, we took an important step by committing to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), supporting our goal of becoming a carbon-neutral company.
The technical advantages of adhering to the SBTi metrics are numerous. One key benefit is that all targets are reviewed and approved by a technical committee, ensuring alignment with the latest climate science and best practices. This rigorous technical oversight not only strengthens the credibility of the targets but also ensures they are effective in meaningfully contributing to global emissions reduction efforts.
We are proud of the progress we have made alongside inspiring leaders like @Juan Pablo Mata and excited about the road ahead as we continue to lead with purpose and create lasting, positive impact. Thank you @Jamie Mackay @Tatiana Repina and team for hosting @cbc at this impactful event.
